PASS Weekend Action Returns To The Bullring

After a weather-enforced weekend layoff, the PA Sprint Series returns to action Saturday night at the smallest of its active tracks, the quarter-mile “bullring” at Path Valley Speedway. It’s the fist of five HTMA nights sponsored by Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic.

PASS has been racing at Path Valley since 2000, longer than any of its active tracks, and the high-banked mountainside speedway delivers nonstop action. This Saturday, the wingless super sportsman cars, 270 and 600 micro sprints, 4-cylinder thunder cars and 4-cylinder strictly stocks also will entertain.

“Hometown” racer Mikell McGee of Doylesburg, great-grandson of the speedway’s founders, won the first IMCA/RaceSaver race this year at Path Valley, and he’s expected to be on hand Saturday, along with Watsontown’s Kenny Heffner, who came heartbreakingly close to his first PASS victory that night. Garrett Bard of Wells Tannery and Ken Duke Jr. of Selinsgrove, the reigning IMCA/RaceSaver and PASS Champion and his predecessor, also are expected, along with defending Path Valley RaceSaver Champ John Walp of Wapwallopen.

The Hard Charger from Saturdays pre-registered drivers will receive a brand new Right rear tire courtesy of Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic.

Track gates will open at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, with warm-ups beginning at 6:00, and racing following immediately. Adult general admission is $10 with kids 10 and under admitted for $3. Pit admission is $30, plus $5 membership fee for first-time competitors.

On Saturday, May 22, PASS returns to Selinsgrove, joining the USAC East Coast 360 wingless sprints, limited late models and roadrunners for a 7:00 p.m. program.
