East Coast Nationals next up for PA Sprint Series

The PA Sprint Series will join other IMCA/RaceSaver sprinters this Friday and Saturday for the inaugural East Coast Nationals at Hagerstown Speedway.

The event will feature full programs and increased purses both nights. On Friday, a $500-to-win feature will be run, unless more than 70 cars are on hand, in which case the field will be divided, and two features will be run, each paying $300 to win.

A single feature will be run Saturday paying $1,000 to win and $500 to start.

Qualifying events will be run both nights. On Friday the IMCA/RaceSaver sprinters will be joined by the Mason-Dixon Late Models, running the first a three-race Mason-Dixon Shootout Series. On Saturday, pure stocks and hobby stocks will share the program.

The Virginia Sprint Series is hosting the event, with PASS and the Laurel Highlands Sprints involved as well. The Mid-Atlantic and Carolina Sprint Series also are expected to be represented.

The early preregistration list for PASS listed 27 cars. A VSS/Laurel Highlands interregional race at Hagerstown last month had 23 cars in competition, most of which are not on the PASS list.

Pit gates will open both nights at 4:30 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5:00. Hot laps will start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Grandstand admission is $15 both nights, with youth/student, senior and military discounts. Pit gate admission is $35 each night.

On Saturday, June 1, PASS will return to Port Royal Speedway for a regular program.
