Jonathan Jones takes Hub City Easter Win
Jonathan Jones wasn’t sure he would make the trip to Hagerstown Speedway until Saturday morning but he sure made it worthwhile topping the twenty three car field of sprinters for the win. Three heats kicked off the co-sanctioned show with Jake Karklin, Jonathan Jones and Christian Rumsey taking wins. Tyler Denochick and Jonathan Jones paced the field to the green. Jones stayed up high and that would be the magic line as he kept his car smooth and fast with Christian Rumsey quickly challenging for second. Second spot Rumsey had a great run going with Drew Ritchey making his way to challenge for second and getting by for a few laps until Rumsey got back by and set off after Jones. Tyler Denochick and Ryan Lynn had a long term battle for fourth as most other positions were changing throughout the field all race long.  Rumsey had been reeling in Jones as the laps counted down after getting away from Ritchey but laps ran out as Jonathan Jones flashed under the waving checkered flag with Christian Rumsey a closing second. At the line it was Jonathan Jones, Christian Rumsey, Drew Ritchey, Tyler Denochick, Ryan Lynn, Scott Lutz, Michael Allerman, Brad Mellott, Ron Aurand, Randy Sterling, Tom Humphries, Donny Hendershot, Tony Harris, Daren Bolac, Reed Thompson, Jerald Harris, Charlie Ware, Matthew Kline, Chris Ware, Ben McCall, Bill Rice, Jake Karklin and Neil Sandridge.
Next week the VSS is back to Shenandoah Speedway Saturday night April 27th and the LHSS will try again at Clinton County Friday April 26th after two rain outs in a row to start the season.
