Mike Keeton Show Fast and Steady Wins
On a hot and sunny evening Mike Keeton showed the way to the front and stayed there for his first win of the year. The feature only event had Chris Ware and Bill Rice on the front row with Rice out first and Ware right behind. Tony Harris, Mike Keeton, Jerald Harris and Glenn Worrell were all lined up working on Chris Ware to get a crack at Bill Rice. Tony Harris got by first to chase down Rice. Worrell got by Jerald Harris as Keeton got by Chris Ware. Worrell was the next to go low in to fourth as Keeton was now pressuring Harris for second. Worrell got by as Keeton went to second so the top four were all together with Harris holding off Worrell as Keeton was working on Rice for the lead. Keeton went to the lead with ten to go as Worrell went in to third below Harris. Keeton was trying to get away as Worrell went in to second with seven laps to go with Harris to third two laps later. On this day Mike Keeton would not be caught as he flashed under the checkered flag first with Glenn Worrell and Tony Harris close behind. At the line it was Mike Keeton, Glenn Worrell, Tony Harris, Bill Rice, Jerald Harris, Chris Ware, Josh Perreault and Matt Mullins. Next Friday it’s the final Fast Friday event of the year at Dixieland Speedway in Elizabeth City, NC. on August 3rd.
