Leraas Leads Last Half for Win
Mike Leraas made to most of the trip north to lead the last half of the race for his second win of the year. A hot sunny afternoon was on tap for the feature only event as Bill Rice and Chris Ware paced the field to green. Rice jumped out front with Ware in tow and Mike Leraas and Tony Harris working on Ware for second. Rice was trying to get away as Leraas got by for second and Harris now all over Ware at the same time. Leraas was now stalking Rice as Harris was now third. Leraas went low and to the front leaving Rice to race with Harris which took five laps until he went to second. Leraas was out front as Harris was trying to chase him down and now Glenn Worrell went to third as Rice was fading with steering trouble. Harris was trying to close in but it was not to be as Leraas hit the finish line first. At the line it was Mike Leraas, Tony Harris, Glenn Worrell, Bill Rice, Ben McCall, Chris Ware, Josh Perreault and Ron Moyers. Next week it’s the 2nd annual visit to Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. on Saturday night June 30th.
