Race # 3 Saturday April 21st 2018

Shenandoah Speedway, Virginia
Mike Leraas Spin and Win
It was a warm sunny day and the track stayed hot and slippery but after an early spin Mike Leraas got the feel to take his first win of the season. It was a feature only event so with Chris Ware and Bill Rice pacing the field it went green and they stayed side by side for a two laps before yellow flew. On the restart Rice got the lead but Tony Harris was all over him with Ware third. On lap seven Harris got the lead over Rice with Leraas closing in on third Ware. Harris was staying smooth but Leraas was gaining speed the bottom and was closing in.  Leraas was on a roll after passing Rice for second. As the laps were winding down Leraas used a low line to take the lead just as Chris Ware was getting by Rice for third.  Jerald Harris was now working on Rice now for fourth. Leraas was fastest on the bottom at the end as he flashed under the checkered flag with five car lengths cushion over Tony Harris. At the line it was Mike Leraas, Tony Harris, Chris Ware, Jerald Harris, Bill Rice, Ron Moyers and Josh Perreault.
The Next race scheduled will be a return to Natural Bridge Speedway on Saturday night May 12th.
