Linkenhoker wins VSS event at Natural Bridge

Anthony Linkenhoker Hometown Hero
On a cool windy evening the Natural Bridge Speedway manager and his crew fought the rains of the week and showers in the morning but never gave up and ended up with a smooth wide race track for the good crowd of fans that came. Anthony Linkenhoker showed his home town advantage and took the late lead and went on to win the feature only event. Chris Ware and Bill Rice paced to green with Ware out first and using the low line to stay out front as Tony Harris was right quickly with him as Anthony Linkenhoker and Jerald Harris were all fairly close. Ware still was out front until Tony Harris was able to get under him at lap ten but now Anthony and Jerald were right there trading second spot. Anthony was trying to get under Tony for five laps and it finally worked as Tony now had to fight off Jerald. With two to go Jerald moved up high and got to second but would not catch Anthony Linkenhoker for our fourth winner of the year. At the line Anthony Linkenhoker, Jerald Harris, Tony Harris, Jeff Taylor, Chris Ware, Bill Rice, Harles Streaker and Brian Lawson. In two weeks it’s back to Eastside Speedway in Waynesboro, Va on Saturday night May 20th.
