Shenandoah Speedway’s VSS Victor is Leraas

Virginia Sprint Series
Race #22 Saturday October 1st 2016
IMCA RaceSaver Mid-Atlantic Division
Shenandoah Speedway Shenandoah, Va.
Mike Leraas is the October Surprise
Mike Leraas only started to run the pavement RaceSaver races this year but showed he is a quick study as he swept the night taking his heat and then closing the season with a feature win. Chris Ware took heat win one before Leraas took heat two. Bill Rice and Chris Ware paced to green with Ware out first but Leraas was using the high line and swept by to the lead. Glenn Worrell and Anthony Linkenhoker with Jerald Harris trailing were already on the hunt. Leraas lead as traffic started to play in to the race so the top four were all together until Harris coasted to the infield with a broken car. The Worrell Linkenhoker duo were really going at it to keep Leraas honest and with three to go Linkenhoker got by for second but the clock ran out to get fight for first as Leraas stated smooth and fast to the stripe. At the line it was Mike Leraas, Anthony Linkenhoker, Glenn Worrell, French Grimes, Bill Rice, Chris Ware, Josh Perreault, Matttie Feldman, Ron Moyers and Jerald Harris. This was the 2016 season final and all the families of the Virginia Sprint Series want to thank the Raceways and their staff and all the series sponsors for the support through the year and at the same time we look towards 2017 our twentieth season.   Thanks for your support Jim Haines Virginia Sprint Series
